#3 is one that every pastor ought to ponder. We always attend church when we are visiting relatives on special occasions. I have witnessed the 'once a year' speaker in the pulpit in holiday services. When this has been the case, it appeared that the speaker didn't really know the congregants that well. It took away from the celebration part of the day.

I have really enjoyed your latest series of posts.

I have benefitted from all of your work here but have especially enjoyed the three posts on multi-preacher churches. I am blessed to share the pulpit evenly with two other elders. We preach expositionally through large sections of scripture and it is wonderful. Your comments are right on target. One of the blessings has been that Christ is elevated as the head of the church and not a single man. We often find that our people, when quoting something from one of our sermons, doesn't even remember which one of us said it. Consequently, the Word gets elevated more than the man.
